Washington square philadelphia home staging

28 Jul

So we’ve had our busiest week yet, walk thrus, proposals and stagings!  Before I head out to pack for tomorrow’s staging I wanted to share our latest job.

This is a smaller property on Waverly Street near 10th and Pine.  If you aren’t familiar with the area I can tell you it’s one of my favorite little spots.  I used to work nearby and always thought how fun it would be to live there.  Walking distance to Whole Foods, some great restaurants and shopping!

So you can imagine my excitement when I pulled up to this property.  I had such a fun time staging this little cutie.  Smaller properties are always challenging which is why they are my favorite!  I think it’s because it requires me to dig deep and pull out the creativity.

One of the biggest challenges was an area next to the fireplace.  I kept putting large vases on it but it just looked vacant.  It wasn’t giving me the warm and fuzzies so to speak.  Then the AH HA moment.  I decided to turn it into a seat, a cozy reading nook.  I’m so happy with the way it turned out!

Using my creativity to get the perfect design in order to evoke a feeling is why I love what I do.  While playing er working in this home I was reminded of my room in high school.  Not that this house reminded me of high school, but the playfullness I felt staging this home and the creativity it took brought me back.

I had a huge attic room in my grandmother’s house.  It had the pitched ceiling and all.  I remember making it my own little hideaway.  I had a couch, coffee table, sleeping area and a study!  I used to spend hours rearranging the furniture, decorating and cleaning.  I remember making curtains, throw pillows and I even painted the ceiling black.  I loved getting creative with the space.

Thinking back really made me smile.  I know this is what I am supposed to be doing with my life, heck I was doing it all along for myself!  I think I have pictures somewhere.  I’ll have to post them sometime!

Hope you like what we created here.  If you’re in Philadelphia and in the market you can view the listing here.  Let me know what you think!  I’ll keep you posted on tomorrow’s staging.  Hope you’re having a great week!
