While many of you may or may not know, my husband and I recently moved into our first home after 5 months of serious renovating. Well more like gutting. Because of the complete redesign of the house I’ve decided to let my readers in on the fun process of starting from scratch. This is a staging / interior redesign blog after all! It may seem strange but decorating my own house has become a struggle. For one my business (Sunflower Creations) is my number one focus these days and that’s how I want it. Two, we’re strapped for money, if you’ve ever been part of any renovation you know what I mean. Our money is literally hidden in our walls.
During those rigorous five months I developed a strong mental picture of how every room would look when we were done. The fresh paint, the new furniture, from the drapes to the couch I have it planned. Little did I know we would move the furniture from our old one bedroom apartment into our new house and I would have to make due. Now after almost four months of living here we haven’t so much as hung a picture on the wall. Some designer, huh?
That is all going to change my friends. It’s time to make this house a home and you’re going to be here for the ride which is going to be thrifty and fun. So stay tuned as I let you in on my decorating secrets and don’t worry I’m going to need your input. There may be something in it for you too so make sure to subscribe to our blog and keep up with the journey.
As always thanks for reading and get ready for our first home decorating adventure, completing the master bedroom! Here are some before and after pictures of the room so far, but there is still lots to be done. Cheers!
